Paweł Korbus

 

 

Paweł Korbus is a visual artist, performer, creator of video and installations. He graduate from the Institute of Fine Arts at the Artistc Department of Marie Curie-Skłodowska University in Lublin, where he studied artistic education. He worked on theatrical and dance projects with Earthfall Dance, Atsushi Takenouchi, Kan Katsura, Gerlad Tyler, Paweł Passini. His works were presented in gallery spaces. He also creates site specific works in public spaces. He received a scholarship from Visegrad Artist Residency Program 2016 for his project „ID-Influence Diagram”. He was also awarded the scholarship from the Preisdent of the city of Lublin for his project „Miejsca – nie miejsca” („Places – not places”) in 2017. He is a leader of performance and research projects such as:  “Cross the Lands and Lens in the Eyes” 2015, “O Miłosci” 2014-2017 („Of Love”)), Dom/Awatar/Translokacja 2013 („Home/Avatar/Translocation”). Together with Chorea theatre and Fabryka Sztuk in Łódź he co-leads an artistic and educational program with undeserved groups „Uwaga Człowiek! Napięcia miasta” (Attention! A human! Tensions in the city”). In 2012 he was a resident in AGÜSAD Antakya Contemporary Art Association in Turkey. His performanes were presented during Performance Festival in Lublin, Performance Month in Berlin 2014, Supermarket Independent Art Fair in Stockholm, Bruno Schulz Festival in Drohobych, Ukraine, Bedesten Festival Antioch, Turkey, Forgetting/Remembering Performance Art Meeting Istanbul, Turkey among others. His educational activity is interdisciplinary and includes performance, stuttering, scenography, light and theatrical workshops. As an educator he combines techniques of working with body, voice with visual arts techniques.
