I graduated from the Fine Arts High School in Bielsko-Biała. I gained my experience studying Artistic Education – graphic art at the University of Silesia in Cieszyn. I graduated with a degree in Artistic Education from the Academy of Fine Arts in Poznań, and am currently studying Graphic Arts at this Academyan artist who works with sculptures, performance, visual arts and graphic design. “In my work, there is no distinction between a symbolic creation and a real threat. In my early works, I used to focus on the corporeality and its asymmetry. I would look at the asymmetry through its origins in my life, in the past and the present. I have created my own type of martial arts, where one fights with quite prosaic barriers put up for us throughout life. A ritual battle and victory build own self-confidence by creating a ritual of living. It takes its roots and inspiration from my own life. I look at people’s attitude towards me, what happens around me, and the attitude towards physical, psychological and mental limitations of life. By working with the past, with memories, I create a therapeutic space for my own development. In the body of my work, a memory is not only an inspiration but also a main substance, a vital content. Since a memory is not static, I treat it as a creating process. I raise questions on the relation between the past and the present. My own biography, my memory and own past play parts in my work. Utilising memories of certain events, I provide a testimony of my individual existence in the world. I create a self-portrait of a memory.
My second stage of work includes the problem of Culture and culture-related aspects in the world in which I live. My interests include the issue of the sacred vs. the profane. I search for the border between the two. Concentrating on symbolism, and on the effect and meaning of colours and shapes, as well as thoughtful observation the and the contemplation of phenomena with an archaeological scrupulosity, allows me to discover the ritual, as well as to create a new ritual in life. The ritual, not associated with any religion or denomination, is simply a ritual, in its pure form. A ritual, which allows me to take the next step.
