Karoline Strys
Karoline Strys is a freelancing performance artist working on the shore of voice, dance and text. Her work is characterized by a philosophical perspective that is permanently engaged in the complexity of a possible translation into and out of the body, as for instance in the installation performance “On Deconstructing the Body” in between language and dance or via a musical composition technique transferred as a movement pattern into space as in “A Solo for Two” that had been developed in collaboration with Valérie Kommer. For “Gesumms“ she has inviting voice anthropologist Ulrike Sowodniok into her research on voice in movement investigating the specificity of listening. Further, she is the co-founder of the make a move collective – a site-specific performance group working with elements of contemporary dance and parkour in urban architecture. She is teaching and organizing workshops and events of Contact Improvisation, voice, dance and theater.
A member of Psychedelic Choir.
