Screening: Unpacking my Library”, „Poland in Spring
Unpacking my Library is a time-lapse video documenting a two hour-long performance that took place in January 2017.The work is a performance video in honour of the late Andrzej Mroczek and Jan Swidzinski with whom the artist remembers having a very informative conversation about contextual art and the history of avant-garde art exhibitions at the Labyrinth Gallery. The work takes its title from Walter Benjamin’s famous essay “Unpacking my Library“(1931), that is a complex exploration of a book collector’s fetishistic relationships with printed objects – commodities – of both learning and pleasure. Poland in Spring with music by Chopin and Stos is also dedicated to Andrzej Mroczek.
