Bożenna Biskupska – Konteksty Festiwal Sztuki Efemerycznej 2015 / Sokołowsko

Bożenna Biskupska– born 1952 in Warsaw,  a painter, sculptor, installation, video and performance artist. She has exhibited her works in Poland and abroad. Biskupska won the first prize at the International Biennial of Miniature Textiles in 1982 (Hungary) and the Stanisław Wyspiański Award for painting and sculpture in 1984. In the same year she was granted a scholarship from the Ministry of Culture. In 2004, together with Zygmunt Rytka she created Contemporary Art Foundation In Situ, based in Warsaw and Sokołowsko. Biskupska’s oeuvre reflects her path leading from figurative art to abstraction and developing her individual language. She experiments with different techniques, combining painting and sculpture,  using concrete, marble flour, the negative film or linseed oil.
