Aleksandra Chciuk is a polish audiovisual and performance artist. She graduated music school and geography studies at UŁ (University of Łódź). Currently she works on her diploma at Łódź Film School. The motive for her video works, photographs and performances is a correlation of human physicality, gesture, movement to a place, another human, an instrument. Intuition plays a big part in her practice.
She debuted in 2012 in the exhibition ‘Eastern Front’ in the gallery Atlas Sztuki in Łódź. Since then she exhibited in Nepal, Germany, Denmark, Canada, Greece, and at festivals such as Kathmandu International Art Festival, Copenhagen Photo Festival, MS Dockville Festival and Fotofestival. She took part in Harun Farocki’s project ‘Labour in a Single Shot’ and as a result of it her works were exhibited in many countries around the world. Together with Paweł Cieślak, Gerard Lebik and Maciej Ożóg she co-creates Rumory Orchestra. Prior to that she performed as a pianist.
