Konteksty. Postartistic Congress is the first chapter of a three year process (2021-2023) of reinventing Konteksty, which has been taking place for the last decade. The assembly, inspired by the tradition of artistic plein-airs of the 1970s, will gather over 30 people engaged in arts, crafts, artistic theory, ecology, activism and education. The contributions prepared by the delegates are mostly ephemeral (walking, eating, deep listening, fixing objects and relationships).

The Congress takes place in a location unique in its architecture, nature and geology. For over 150 years, the sanatorium in Sokołowsko was treating lung diseases. Nowadays, it’s struggling with the issues of gentrification, expansive tourism, and exploitation of natural resources, with a nearby opencast melaphyre mine. Konteksty is a research tool, calibrated to register the frequencies characteristic for the sanatorium center and at the same time perceptible on planetary scale.
