Zorka Wollny

 

 

Zorka Wollny – Performer, author of video films, painter. She was born in 1980 in Krakow.

Zorka (actually: Zofia) Wollny studied at the Academy of Fine Arts in Krakow, where in 2006 she defended her master’s degree, and in 2013 she received her doctoral degree. She is an assistant at the Art Academy in Szczecin. He lives and works in Berlin.  In addition to a series of oneiric films, he has a series of choreographic performances for museum institutions and a series of concerts (usually created in cooperation with Anna Szwajgier).  He collaborates with the most important Polish artistic institutions dealing with contemporary art: the Zachęta National Gallery of Art, the Łódź Art Museum, the Wyspa Art Institute and the Center for Contemporary Art Ujazdowski Castle. In 2007, she represented Poland at the exhibition of European artists in Brussels. She has twice received a scholarship from the Minister of Culture, she is also a laureate of the. Eugeniusz Geppert for painting achievements. In 2009, she was nominated for the “Look” award of the Deutsche Bank Foundation for the best young artist. In 2010, the art magazine “Arteon” awarded her the title of Artist of the Year.
