Marcin Berdyszak (born in 1964 in Poznań); between 1983-1988 he studied at the Academy of Fine Arts in Poznan. He graduated from the Painting and Sculpture faculty. Since 1989 he holds a academic position at the Academy of Fine Arts in Poznan.
His art works were presented at dozens of individual and group exhibitions. He deals with sculpture, objects. He lives and works in Poznań. He juxtaposes fresh fruit (bananas, lemons, apples) with complex, usually metallic devices. The presence of the fruit enables the installations to reflect the dualism of two seemingly different ways of existence: the seemingly unchangeable and explicitly fragile; coexistence of what is real and artificial, dead and alive, dying and nascent.
